Day 69: Heading out West

Once again we had a very slow morning. We were setting out towards Thunder Bay today but we had no major plans about what to do or where to go. We were just going to head out and then stop when it got dark! A whole new relaxed way to do this, until now I had been so worried about finding a place every night and now I felt safe at Walmart and since most towns had them we were Ok.

So we headed out West, our final destination being Thunder Bay. We knew we would have to stop before then but we weren't sure where yet! After driving through the Toronto suburbs and outskirts it was nice to get on the highway and back into the Wilderness again. The drive was very pretty with lots of trees and rocks. Different from what we had been used to up till this point. Quebec had been fairly flat and the maritimes had a focus on the sea, but now we were in the Canadian Shield.

We drove trough Sudbury and continued on to Sault Ste Marie. This was the plan for the half way point. We had started driving at 12 that morning and we got there at about 8 or 9 at night. With only one or two stops for bathroom and food. It was definitely a long day!

We stopped at a Walmart where there were several other overnights and got ready for a nice night! And tomorrow another long day of driving! We are hoping to make it to Thunder Bay.
