Day 68: That's A Lot of Water!

Again we had a late morning today! And it was amazing! So nice to wake up late and shower and relax! We had another delicious meal, eggs and bacon, and sausages and mango! With orange juice!

At about noon we hoped in the car for our day trip. It was to Niagara Falls! The drive took us a little longer than anticipates. We stopped in the small town of Niagara-on-the-water. There we got some delicious Tim Hortons and then kept going. We moved from the highway to a road along the river which was really nice. Although there was a lot of construction and potholes so that made the driving a little bit harder!

But finally we got to Niagara Falls and found free parking just about 10 min walk away from the falls! It was awesome! I didn't think we were going to be able to find the parking, especially not for free.

We walked to the falls and admired them! For a while. There is so much water there! I can't believe how much water goes over those falls! Seriously it was so much. And it is pretty cool that there is almost constantly a rainbow because the mist and the sun. And the birds! It must have been mating season or something because they were everywhere! The rocks were covered in them, it was crazy!

After enjoying the falls for a while we headed to dinner at the Pinnacle. A restaurant on top of a tower overlooking the falls. We had found a groupon for it and thought it would be nice to have a yummy and special dinner. So we went for it. And it was nice, I had duck and Joel had snapper. We also got calamari and I had a glass of Niagara white wine while Joel enjoyed a cocktail. All overlooking the majestic falls. It was really pretty awesome.

After dinner we hopped back into the car ( which had been valet parked) and headed back to Toronto for the last night there. On the drive home we sang along to some very soulful music like Andrei Bochelli and Josh Groban. Then it was back to a warm bed for the last night before setting off again! Tomorrow we start the long trek to the other side of Ontario!
