Day 62: Montreal!

Joel and I woke up late again this morning. Since we hadn't gone to bed till one or later in the morning, sleeping in was quite nice! We got up eventually, to a very sunny day, and had showers.

We finally packed and headed out. Saying goodbye to our couch surfer was our last major event in Quebec City. From there we drove all the way to Montreal. It was a nice drive, not too long, fairly flat.

When we got to Montreal our first stop was the Olympic building. We took a look and drove around it. It was a really cool building, architecturally. After seeing this we headed to downtown Montreal, near the university. We got there and it was packed with people, walking and driving all over the place.

Eventually we found parking and headed to Mount Royal. We walked all the way to the top of mountain. There is a gorgeous view of the entire city. We then hiked back down the hill, past the university and towards old Montreal.

We walked all the way to old Montreal and then wandered the streets for a while. There were plenty of very nice buildings, including several very old churches. After wondering the streets for a while we headed to a restaurant I had found in the guidebook. To get there we walked through Chinatown. It was cool seeing all the different stores and restaurants.

We finally got to the restaurant I wanted to be at, a nice Vietnamese place. Unfortunately it was not open, and we have no idea why! But we decided to walk back to our car and hopefully find something along the way.

We stopped at a place called the 3 Brasserie. It was an old brewery that had special French pizzas. So we sat down for a nice dinner. I had a French pizza which was delicious. But Joel had pork shank which was not all that great. So kinda split on how we feel about this restaurant.

We then got to our car and drove to Laval where we had found a Walmart to sleep at. When we got there, there was another big RV which made us feel good about it! And then tomorrow we are heading to a sugar shack! I can't wait!
