Day 53: First Day Back in Canada

We woke up this morning to a rather cold chill in the air.  Thankfully there was no snow on the ground (yet). We got dressed quickly (jeans are definitely cold when putting them on in the morning)!  We headed into Walmart this morning for some last minute cheap food and to do some bathroom things.  Then we hopped in the car and headed up North.

All in all today was a rather boring day.  We spent much of the time in the car and stopped to eat.  We decided to drive all the way to Halifax and spend more time in New Brunswick on the way back.  So it was a pretty much straight shoot.  We did stop three times for food: Tim Hortons (if was nice to be in Canadian Tim Hortons again!), Wendy's, and DQ for blizzards.  Our first town was the first town across the border. It was called Woodstock, a cute little town with lots of friendly people.  We spent some time at the post sending letters (or in Joel's case his taxes).

From there we headed down a toll road (I did not know this was a thing in Canada as well as America)  and drove through a time zone (we have passed through a lot now!).  In the end we got to Halifax at about 4 30. We were hoping to spend some time with friends but never heard back from then.  So instead we wondered around and looked at some stores. Then we settled in at a cozy Walmart for the night.

As 10 o'clock rolled around we started to notice that it was snowing!  And luckily it was not too cold, and as the night wore on the snow turned to rain, but it still snowed!  In April!  It was nice to see again, although I would rather have snow when living inside.  And tomorrow we are heading into Halifax!  Hopefully there is no snow on the roads!!
