Day 51: Back on The Road

Joel and I woke up early this morning in an attempt to leave early. Unfortunately we got distracted by packing and having a delicious breakfast. So after an hour or so later than we though we headed out. We were given sandwiches, grapes, drinks, cookies, bananas, and chips for our journey! My mothers friend we stays with was so generous!

We drove to Baltimore as our first stop. Although we didn't stop anywhere we did drive around. We drove past the church where Edgar Allen Poe is buried and then we kept driving. We saw some very neat neighborhoods and enjoyed driving around the area.

After Baltimore we headed to Philadelphia for some cheesesteaks. We stopped at Pat's King of Steaks the original place for the Philadelphia cheesesteak. It was a very old building apparently the same building that this restaurant opened in during the 1920s. After the cheesesteak we went and got some Italian Ice. It was very hot! And the watermelon and lemonade Italian ice helped cool me down!

After all the food we headed to downtown Philadelphia to see the liberty bell. After wondering around all the old buildings and admiring the liberty bell we headed back to the car.

From there we kept heading north, using toll roads and toll bridges to New York. It cost us about 24 dollars! As Joel commented it was highway robbery! But we made it to New York and kept driving, we didn't want to get stuck in manhattan during rush hour! So on we drove towards Connecticut where we were sleeping that night.

We finally arrived at our bed for the night which happened to be a Casino. Foxwoods Casino is an enormous casino in the middle of nowhere! By the time we got there a lightning storm was over us. But we headed into the casino to look around. It was a really. cool area, lots of restaurants and stores. But it was getting late and so we decided to head back to the car and go to sleep! It was nice to sleep in the car again, weird but nice!
