Pai (Our Last City in Thailand)

After the amazing time at the monastery we caught the public bus back to Pai.  This took about 4 or 5 hours.  The bus was practically falling apart and had a interesting collection of people.  Definitely mostly locals!  And no A/C of course, but had fans on the roof!

After getting to Pai we hiked to our hostel which was about 20 min outside of the city.  But it was a pretty cool place, right by a rice patty.
Enjoying the Hammocks!

We chilled in Pai for two nights.  We hung out in the hammocks which are pretty cool (although there was a GIANT wasp nest near them and since I am allergic to wasps I did not relax too much once I saw it).  Then we walked into town, which was really fun.  Pai is a nice little town, apparently what Thailand looked like about 10 years ago.  We also spent some time in a couple nice restaurants.  One where you sat over a pond and could watch the fish.  One AMAZING one where we had Giant sandwiches and cheesecake.  And finally one really cool restaurant where the view was amazing and the architecture and design was definitely the coolest I have seen since I got here!

After some nice R and R in Pai, and of course watching the Dutch win against Mexico, we headed back to Chiang Mai for one final night!  Another 3 hour drive down the hill, this time I have to say I got a little sick, the bus driver was crazy!  He didn't drive less than 60 km the entire drive even turning blind corners on the wrong side of the road!  But we did make it safe and sound, and now we are leaving Thailand and heading to our next country CAMBODIA!  Wish us luck!

What a Great View!
