Day 9: Yosemite

Since Joel and I decided we were staying another night in Madesto we decided to head to Sanoma, another cowboy town in the area. However on our drive to Sanoma we decided that we really should do Yosemite National Park. We had skirted the area because we heard you needed chains on your tires, which we didn't have.

But we decided to brave the two hour drive to see the park even if we couldn't go into it. The drive itself was gorgeous, lots of trees and even some snow. We finally got to the park and luckily it was gorgeous weather with very little snow. The park ranger informed us all the roads were r0 meaning no snow chains needed!

We headed into the park and it was magnificent! Love the mountains!!!! We drove around and stopped plenty to take lots of pictures. So amazing. We even took a couple walks out through the trees, into a meadow, and by a river. But we then decided to take a real hike.

We parked the car on the side of the road and filled a backpack with snacks, water, and books. We headed up through the trees towards El Capitain. We decided we wanted to get to the base of this incredibly large rock face. After a good 45 to an hour of climbing and rock jumping we made it. And the view was fantastic, breathing in the fresh air and realizing we had come to a place where so few humans had ever been. And the sun was out as well! We soaked in the beauty and the suns rays before heading back to the car.

After that, with a quick stop at the Yosemite sign to take a picture we headed back to Madesto. Back through the trees and away from the stunning mountains. Joel and I both agree that the Rockies were much prettier. For me those mountains will always hold a special place in my heart.
Rammy Excited to Explore!

When we headed to Madesto Joel ad I decide to stop for another snow cone. Unfortunately we had no idea where it was and after a failed attempt at didn't it we simply headed back to the home base

We spent the night solidifying, once again, out new friendship with our hosts. It was a night filled with cupcakes and Heineken. What more could I possibly want? Unfortunately tomorrow we head off, we do need to be in Vegas by Sunday. I am definitely going to miss it here, it was so much fun!
