Malaysia: Or Really Kuala Lumpur

So we woke up once again fairly early in Singapore and headed to Little India to catch our 6 hour bus to KL in Malaysia.  We arrived about 45 min early so sat down to catch our breath and cool off.  Walking around in hot Singapore with huge backpacks definitely makes you sweat!  So we waited for our bus to arrive, as we were supposed to leave at about 12:30.  Unfortunately we did not end up leaving till around 1.  Which all in all was not too bad, but it definitely set us up for the rest of the day! The bus itself was super comfy!  Huge chairs, massage chairs no less, and lots of leg room!  Air conditioning of course and did I mention a massage chair?
Amazing Massage Chairs!
We headed to the Singapore/ Malaysia border.  And it was a breeze crossing through it.  Before we knew it we were in Malaysia, which is very forested!  Unfortunately neither of us had brought any food, we had hopped that we would find something on the way, but we only stopped once and they only accepted cash, Malaysian currency, which we did not have yet!  No worries we thought, we should be there around 7 o'clock with the half hour delay! Well let me tell you 7 o'clock came and went and we were still on the bus, as did 8 o'clock.  Finally at around 9 we were dropped off at a somewhat different location then was originally promised.  It was dark, late, and we were hungry and lost!  But fret not we found a McDonalds, which was everything we needed.  Internet to find out Hostel and Dinner to feed our bodies!  Well after scarfing down dinner we got to the hostel and what a nice place it was!  But we fell quickly into bed and slept very nicely!

Our first real day in Malaysia we went to explore the city

We walked around for a while admiring all the amazing temples and people walking around.  After that we headed back to the hostel for some relaxing and it also started to thunder and lightening.  Once that eased up we headed back to the markets to look around.  It was fun, and I got to start bargaining again!  Such a blast, got a pair of Sunnies for 12 RM when they asked for 29RM,  or 4 dollars instead of 10!  Pretty great bargaining skills!

Our second day started a little bit later than usual as Joel was feeling a little under the weather.  Which meant we ended up sleeping in quite late, plus we had a shower, and breakfast!  But our first stop of the day were the Batu Caves.  Only about a 30 min bus ride from our hostel!

There are LOTS of Monkeys here
Let me just write a little about the monkey here.  There are LOTS of them and they are pretty vicious little things.  Running around stealing food off of people and eating it all.  Apparently they can bite and attack on occasion as well.  Not to say they are not very adorable, but there are TONS of them and they run around like they own the place.  A little worrying for someone like myself who has not had their rabies shot....

The Caves, Really Amazing!

Monkey Mom and Child
So more about the monkeys..... Joel took a really nice picture of me in front of the caves and as I was coming down to see what it looked like a monkey LITERALLY jumped on top of his head and grabbed his sunglasses, Joel ducked and I swung hitting the monkey.  The monkey jumped away but took his new prize with him.  We were both shocked that this actually happened! We thought something might get stolen this trip, but not Sunnies, off Joel's head, by a monkey!  Just ridiculous!

After our amazing trip to the Batu Caves we headed into town to see the famous towers in the city.  So we picked a train stop and walked over there.  I also found a cupcake place nearby that I wanted to try!  Our first stop the towers:
The Cool Towers

After the towers, we tried to find the cupcake place, but I was not really well organized and did not really have a location or a name of the store, just a vague idea of where it was!  We didn't quite find it but instead we had lunch at this amazing teppanyaki place.  For five dollars a person we had an amazing lunch!  Then after lunch we ended up finding the cupcake place!  And I had a red velvet cupcake, Yummy!  Then back to the hostel and tonight we are going to the Chinatown market again for a new pair of Sunglasses for Joel!

Delicious Dinner Being Made!
Finally Found My Cupcake!
