Day 33: Welcome to Tennessee

Day 33: Welcome to Tennessee

We woke up this morning in a very nice bed! What a great change. Our host ha arrived home late last night after I had already gone to sleep. Luckily Joel was still up to welcome her home. We had woken up during the night a couple times as well since an enormous storm had passed through around 5 am. I haven't heard lightning like that in a while. Luckily we were warm and cosy inside!

We spent the morning talking to our host and exchanging stories. She even made us an amazing breakfast of French toast sandwiches. Which was two pieces of French toast with a mixture of brown sugar and sour cream in between! They were covered in powdered sugar and were absolutely amazing!

We finally headed off at around 12 because we had to be in Nashville at 5. We drove pretty much straight. Only stopping once for pizza at Little Ceasers and some gas. Other than that we headed right on up.

We arrived at Cafe Coco where we were meeting our host for the next two nights. We sat down with our books and a piece if chocolate cheesecake. After a while a man approached us and asked if we were his surfers, turns out it was the man who had been ahead of me in line! We had both been waiting for about twenty minutes, good thing he came up to us!

We hung around there for a while talking. He was a professional cello player so had lots of interesting and fun stories. We also managed to squeeze in some talk to politics and social issues.

After that he took us to a really nice coffee place where there was some live music. We hung out there listening for a couple hours. I had a giant hot chocolate with whipped cream, it was amazing. :)

We then headed back to his house where we spent some more time talking and watching Arrested Development. It was quite late before we finally fell asleep, me on the couch and Joel in the car (his decision). And tomorrow is country time in Nashville!!!!!
